Wednesday saw the departure of Mornington Secondary’s Camp 1 and the arrival of Camp 2! The year 7’s brought so much energy and we’re more than ready to play! After introducing the five keys: Have Fun, Play All In, Make Lots Of Mistakes, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable, and, Don’t Go Home Wondering What If. The afternoon started with an initiative before starting the first of the rotations! Activities Mornington Secondary students tackled included: Inflatables, Snowy River Challenge, Laser Skirmish, Scavenger Hunt, Orienteering, Giant Swing, Rock Wall, Summit Window, and, The Leap of Faith. Two rotations saw us to the end of the day!
Day two started with the introduction of morning intentions and choosing the type of person we wanted to be for the day. The rest of the morning had three rotations of activities before lunch. After lunch was one more rotation before The Monster Course! The Monster Course has students and teachers filling big, holey buckets, carrying tyres, throwing balls, moving tyres, dodging balls, throwing frisbees, climbing across a big cargo net, some star jumps and pushups, crawling through big mud puddles! Amazing efforts from every single person. Then came the surprise and we got to it all over again and it was incredible to see everyone step up to the challenge!
Day three again started with choosing who everyone wanted to be that day, with a bit more depth about how actions affect others. The last day had groups finishing with two more rotations. Before everyone knew it, it was time for lunch and to wrap up camp. Results were tallied, thanks were given and it was just about time to jump on the bus. The one last surprise saw the values winners get one last hoorah!
A big thank you to everyone involved making camp 2 as fun and enjoyable as you did!
