Wednesday brought the Grade 6’s from Waverley Christian College to The Summit! The afternoon started with the introduction of the Five Keys: Have Fun, Play All In, Make Lots of Mistakes, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable, and, Don’t Go Home Wondering What If. With a focus on the first two for the first day of camp, it was time to hit the park! Target, Stretch, Super Stretch, our goal setting strategy, followed a quick round of initiatives. The rest of the afternoon saw two rotations of activities; Giant Swing, Abseil, Flying Fox, Snowy River Challenge.
Day two started with morning intentions, and choosing the type of person everyone wanted to be that day. The focus were also keys three and four. The morning saw the completion of the first set of activities. One rotation of the new activities; Tash’s Ladder, Laser Skirmish, Sky Bridge, Scavenger Hunt, saw out the morning. After lunch, we had one more rotation before the Monster Course. When the Monster Course came, everyone was ready to give it their all! The Monster Course had everyone carrying tyres, throwing things, pulling things, and climbing and crawling through lots of different obstacles. It was great to see everyone had a an amazing time by the smiles plastered to all the faces involved!
Day three and last day on camp! We started with a moment of gratitude. The morning had everyone complete the last two rounds of activities. Everyone was having so much fun that time just flew by and before we knew it, it was time to wrap up camp! A huge thank you to everyone for bringing the fun and laughter to camp!
