Koonung Year 9 Camp 2019

As the busses rolled in on Wednesday Afternoon, we welcomed Koonung Secondary College. After a long journey to The Summit the Year 9’s were very keen to hop off the buses and hit the park. No time was wasted in the first rotation, group numbers quickly turned into awesome tribe names.

Group 1 – Sliders Group 5 – Pipe

Group 2 – Foyls Group 6 – Crocodile Dundee

Group 3 – Monsters Group 7 – D Squad

Group 4- Three Piece Feed Group 8 – Xavier flintoff

Group 9 – Brooklyn 99

The afternoon was filled with loads of fun and laughs. 2 Rotations were completed. It was a great taster for what was to come for day two. However, the fun didn’t stop there, after dinner the year 9’s embraced The Night Monster course, where they not only ran it once but TWICE. Well done to you all! It was Awesome to see you having all the fun. What a great way to kick start your camp.

Tuesday was a jam packed day for the Year 9’s. Five rotations were completed: Giant Swing, Leap of faith, Cave, Laser Skirmish, The Summit Window, Flying Fox and The Snowy River Challenge. After a very long but fun day, the Year 9’s dug deep for some more energy and went on to complete their Bush Walk, after that they turned The Lodge into a dance field where they danced the night away.

Wednesday Morning rolled around quickly. To kick it off The Grade 9’s shared a few things they where grateful for in their day to day lives - sometimes it’s the little things that matter and that go unnoticed. How cool is It, that we get to be grateful as one big team. The Summit team loved hearing what you were all grateful for. Koonung Year 9’s, YOU ALL ROCK! The Summit crew wish you all the very best for the rest of your school years. Great job playing all in over the past few days.

After two and a half days of unleashing greatness, the end of camp was finished by each tribe voting for a values winner who demonstrated the five values to the best of their abilities.
