East Preston Islamic College Girls Camp Blog

On Monday the 22 of August, we welcome the girls from East Preston Islamic College, thank you for making the trip down. To kick start camp off, we introduced the girls to The Summit's very own Five Keys.

1. Have fun

2. Play all in

3. Make lots of mistakes

4. Get comfortable being uncomfortable

5. Don’t go home wondering what if

Thank you for taking these keys on board to unleash your inner greatness.

To get our bodies moving we played a game called Jockeys, thankfully the sun was out to help us have all the fun. Once we had warmed up it was time to learn how to put on the helmets and harnesses to tackle the first rotation of activities. These activities include walking 8 meters in the air whilst navigating over the High Wire, balancing over the very wobbly Sky Bridge, and conquering our fears in the Giant Swing. Awesome efforts to all those who played all in.

From morning intentions to morning gratitude all teams not only completed 6 rotations but also TWO laps of our Monster Course. Despite feeling cold, wet, and tired all teams improved their times by 4 minutes or more…

AWESOME EFFORTS ALL AROUND.

Many of the Activities found the students feeling at times a little bit overwhelmed and uncomfortable. However, with the use of our target, stretch, and super stretch every student strived to do their absolute best, and that’s what it’s all about. To the students who also used our Five Keys, we hope it helped you achieve your goals and left you not going home wondering what If.

Not only did the students complete multiple activities they also managed to constantly show up and stay present. The girls finished off camp with three new activities, them being climbing to the top of the Summit Window leaning back 20 meters in the air with no arms and one leg, running and dodging in the Laser Skirmish field and lastly navigating their way through the small man-made Cave. What incredible activities to complete over the three days at The Summit.

Again, we thank you for playing all in and having all the fun. Just remember that on the other side of uncomfortably lies freedom.

All the best for the year ahead.

Big thanks from The Summit team in blue.
