Elsternwick PS Year 3 Camp Blog

From the moment we introduced ourselves we knew the week with Elsternwick Primary School’s grade 3’s was going to be epic. After Tiffany, Calarnee, Ella, and I welcomed everyone with an intro video and our Five Keys of Have Fun, Play All In, Make Mistakes, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable, and Don’t Go Home Wondering What If, we got stuck straight into it.
We battled a little bit of weather but on our first rotations of High Wire, Tash’s Ladder, Tribe Identity, and Snowy River Challenge the students had a ball getting wet and muddy.
Wednesday night was the perfect night for a bush walk before everyone stayed up way too late on the first night of camp. The bleary eyes were everywhere on Thursday. We started the day off with a chat about setting a morning intention before we completed the last of the initial rotation. The second round of activities included Summit Window, which saw everyone step out of their comfort zones, Snake and Nails where we all met Mitch and Monty, Laser Skirmish, which was a battle of wits in the mud, and Scavenger Hunt, which was just fun.
Thursday afternoon was also the Monster Course, where everyone was pushed through some epic challenges involving tires, mud, cargo nets, charades, buckets, and a whole lot more mud! The resilience shown on the surprise second lap was something I hope all students are incredibly proud of.
We started Friday with another chat about gratitude before our final round of activities with everyone loving the Summit Window. We then gathered to read out the results of the challenges and announce our Values winners, the people in each tribe that best represented our Five Keys, before a photo and a sad farewell.

Tiffany, Calarnee, Ella, Sarah, Liam, and I would like to thank all the students and teachers for an amazing few days. You were incredible and we hope to see many more students from Elsternwick Primary School visit us again in the future.
