Grey Street PS Traralgon Year 6 Camp Blog
It has been a pleasure having the grade 6 students and their teachers from Grey Street Primary School at The Summit for the last 3 days. As a grade six camp, it is a special time of bonding and self-discovery. After the formal introductions and going through The Summit's Five Keys (Have Fun, Play All In, Make Mistakes, Get Comfortable being Uncomfortable, and Don’t Go Home Wondering What If) in the Lodge, it was time to get out into the park and begin camp. Each tribe began by coming up with a tribe name.
Tribe names they chose:
Chipmunks
Bacon Bits
Summit Slayers
The Lads
Mad Dogs
There were so many great moments at camp and some of these moments were acknowledged through the G.M.I.C.s given to individuals. Well done to anyone who gave out a G.M.I.C. and well done to anyone who received a G.M.I.C.
Here are the full results of the tribes' challenges at camp.
Bush Challenge time results:
Bacon Bits = 35.49
Chipmunks = 32.12
Summit Slayers = 30.36
The Lads = 29.32
Mad Dogs = 25.14 WINNER!!!
Monster Course improvement time:
Summit Slayers = 3.56
Chipmunks = 8.29
Bacon Bits = 9.25
The Lads = 9.32
Mad Dogs = 12.05 WINNER!!!
What an effort from all teams.
Congratulations to the teachers who played so hard at camp and joined in some staff games. The civilians won with Andrew and Spinks being the people taking you out. What a laugh it was.
At the end of camp, each tribe voted for your Values winner. These people were rewarded with a ride in The Summit's WW2 tank. Congratulations to Zara, Aiden, Destiny, Harry, and Charlie for being voted as the Values champs.
Thank you once again to all the students and teachers from Grey Street PS. We look forward to seeing you in 2024
