Preston High School - Camp One Year 9 Blog

On Monday afternoon, the last day of January, the buses full of Preston HS students and staff rolled through to the gates of The Summit. Eager to get started they all made their way up to their cabin accommodations.

The Summit coaches, led by their team leader Steph, welcomed the group and the Summit Five Keys were shared with the students, as they are the ingredients for a great camp. As the students were shown to the stage, we played a game called 50 Up. Two rotations were run to finish the day off, some honourable mentions were to Charlie for being a great rope captain at The Giant Swing and Isaiah for stretching herself on the swing. Dinner at six, smashing some staff-led games, then finally some sleep.

The six groups did four rotations on the second day: Snowy River Challenge, Leap of Faith, Giant Swing, The Cave, Laser Skirmish, Rock Wall, and two laps of the Monster Course (mud run)! Shout out to Zoe and Riley on the Leap of Faith for stretching herself, and Finn and Hannah for their Leadership on the Monster Course.

Last day of camp and it was safe to say the students were tired! We started the day with gratitude and intentions followed by a game of Huckle Buckle. The students got to experience two new rotations with all-new activities! Shout out to Riley, Ava, and River on Abseil for really stretching themselves even when tired!

Thanks for a great camp, having all the fun and playing all in! All the best for the rest of the year!

Regards

Spinks, Steph, Chey, Cam, Mason, Sophie! :)
